I think I’m not going to buy this one again. I’m giving this a Double Bogey but a great opening drive out of Rad. The initial flavor alone was awesome though. The artificial sweetener tasted terrible and didn’t have anything to keep it at bay. Overall, it wasn’t horrible but I wish that nice tartness lasted longer. I was very aware it was not made with sugar. It is interesting that it just up and went away. The final part of the flavor was just sweet from their artificial sweeteners. I was great out of the gate, but lost my speed near the end. In the middle part of the taste, the tartness lingers, but loses its impact. Actually, I noted it was actually one of the more authentic tasting drinks I’ve had on here. The tartness was a cross between a real green apple and SweetTart candy you get during Valentine’s Day. In fact, it actually made me wince a bit at first! That’s a good sign for something called Sour Heads. It was slightly more convincing than say a Jolly Rancher. Yeah, I could tell it was fake, but it was a good fake. When I got closer to it, I could smell green apple for sure. It was still bubbly so I probably wouldn’t have mistook it for water. I swear, it is a little odd not seeing any color. The liquid came out clear like all other Bang drinks. I still assume it is green apple since what else is green and sour? Limes? That’s kind of boring. 2020 is a year of new stuff for the Rad Blog. I think I’ll just post the pictures here since I’m writing this on my phone. I don’t have the can with me so I can’t do the nutrition facts and ingredients like I usually do, but thankfully, Amazon does on their store page. They play like beach punk, but for the 21st century so it has crappy electronics in it too. It actually sounds like it could be a band name to me. It is trying to sound like War Heads or Air Heads which are tart/sour candies. It has that testimonial on the side with all the pictures describing what makes it have energy or whatever. The can is the same as all the previous cans of Bang minus the color. It worked for Monster all these years so it’s only natural it works here too. The green sticks out on the black background. I believe it is slightly cheaper than a Monster. In any case, they do make a decent priced energy drink. Basically, Bang is trying market their energy drinks to people who want this sort of healthy lifestyle. Everything in moderation right? Well, Bang is trying to capitalize on that with their company promoting exercise and vitamins. Sugar free is a big thing since people think it is healthier or whatever. Reign, though, was pretty inferior since they rely on sucralose and aspartame I believe as their sugar free alternatives. They pretty much forced Monster to make their own line to compete with it with Reign. Hopefully this one is more like the cotton candy rather than the Star one.īang is making waves in the energy drink market. That Star Burst or whatever drink wasn’t very good. Their cotton candy drink was great and it captured the flavor so well. They are 1 for 2 right now and I was thinking their miss was just a fluke. A potentially sour green apple energy drink? I’m all in on that! I do like a good green apple drink and Bang has been pretty decent. When I first saw this, I was quite happy. I’m stuck at the tire shop so this is a post drink reaction.
